POLITICAL CORRECTNESS CHANGING OUR SOCIETY

A NEW SOCIETY?
Sometimes it’s difficult to get this old mind to wrap around how our society is being shaped by attitudes, regulations, hearsay, and particularly by what is called “political correctness”.  Our speech and our actions are no longer honest, but are instead governed by the loud noise of condemnation.  It’s kind of looking at a movie about the clique’s of school adolescents setting up rules of who to include and who to shun or abuse.  We can no longer determine what a person really thinks by their actions.   The individual’s need of acceptance is an important trait of our species and in our quest for acceptance we are like the chameleon, changing our speech and our actions to match someone else’s criteria.  The fear of rejection, the need to be right, causes most of us to put forth the persona required for acceptance by the herd.  We, in fact, are put in the position of lying about who we really are.
The use of “political correctness” as a societal tool of change, herding the majority into like-mindedness, seems to too be changing the mores, values, and ethics of our people.  We can see the effect of this method of group indoctrination in the growth of discontent throughout our society.  Changes in society are no longer many decades long but are now taking place with-in much shorter time spans.  The use of “political correctness” by educational facilities, media outlets, and social networking has allowed small groups to spread their sync-think much more rapidly than at any time throughout the history of mankind.  We no longer have the help of time to prove the validity of the changes being promoted or the unintended consequence that might be a part of those changes.  The pendulum is moving to rapidly to inspect, what we are doing, and the inherent consequence.  We can no longer determine if the voice crying wolf is real or false.

Do we want a nation standing on the sand of lies or do we want one growing out of the bedrock of truth.
